The list of artists and events for the Proximus Pop-Up Arena in Middelkerke is longer and longer. Sportpaleis Group, Middelkerke and Proximus have given the green light for a lively concert summer in Middelkerke.
Expertise and a lot of enthusiasm!
In the summer of last year, Sportpaleis Group unfolded plans to build a temporary arena in Middelkerke. The developments of the corona virus called this project into question more than once. On Tuesday 11 May, the events sector got the long-awaited perspective. The predetermined maximum number of visitors are perfectly dimensioned for the capacity of this innovative hall concept. In July, the Proximus Pop-Up Arena will be able to receive up to 2,500 visitors with a mouth mask and a seat between each reservation. That number can be increased in August, taking into account additional measures.

Audiences and artists have been yearning for this moment for over a year. Now that there is certainty about the Proximus Pop-Up Arena, we notice a greatly increased interest from organizers in this very attractive format: a concert venue that combines the atmosphere of a festival with the comfort of an arena. The calendar will soon be supplemented with additional concerts. Natalia kicks off on Thursday 8 July with the start of the concert series “A Symphonic Evening with”.

Sportpaleis Group, Middelkerke en Proximus zetten het licht definitief op groen voor een bruisende concertzomer in Middelkerke.
Expertise én enorm veel goesting!
Sportpaleis Group ontvouwde in de zomer van vorig jaar plannen om in Middelkerke een tijdelijke arena te bouwen. De ontwikkelingen van het coronavirus stelde dit project meer dan eens in vraag. Op dinsdag 11 mei kreeg de evenementensector het langverwachte perspectief. De vooropgestelde maximum aantallen bezoekers zijn perfect gedimensioneerd op de capaciteit van dit innovatieve zaalconcept. In juli zal de Proximus Pop-Up Arena tot maximaal 2.500 bezoekers kunnen ontvangen mét mondmasker en een stoel tussen elke reservering. In augustus kan dat aantal verhoogd worden, met inachtname van extra maatregelen.
“Het hele team achter onze arena’s en theaters staat in de startblokken om met enorm veel goesting aan de slag te gaan”, aldus Jan Van Esbroeck, CEO van de Sportpaleis Group. We gaan al onze expertise kunnen aanwenden om de bezoekers een heerlijke concertervaring aan te bieden.”
Publiek en artiesten snakken al ruim een jaar naar dit moment. Nu er zekerheid is over de Proximus Pop-Up Arena, merken we een fel verhoogde belangstelling van organisatoren voor dit zeer aantrekkelijke format: een concertlocatie die de sfeer van een festival combineert met het comfort van een arena. De kalender zal weldra worden aangevuld met extra concerten. Natalia bijt op donderdag 8 juli de spits af met de start van de concertreeks “A Symphonic Evening with”.
“Ik kijk er on-ge-loof-lijk hard naar uit om weer op een podium te staan. Dat is intussen al zolang geleden. Veel te lang, als je erover nadenkt. Dus de knaldrang is groot (lacht). Ik kan niet wachten om opnieuw live te spelen en dan nog wel met een symfonisch orkest! Dat wordt van de eerste tot de laatste noot genieten, ook voor het publiek dat al zolang op zijn honger zit. Nog even volhouden. Op 8 juli zorgen we voor een topavond in Middelkerke", belooft Natalia.

Ook burgemeester Jean-Marie Dedecker is verheugd over de aangekondigde versoepelingen: “De indrukwekkende concertkalender zal voor een groot stuk het ritme van ons fantastische zomeraanbod bepalen. Ik heb het de afgelopen weken al vaker gezegd: in Middelkerke kan je in de meest veilige omstandigheden genieten van de gezonde zeelucht. En dankzij de komst van de Proximus Pop-up Arena gaat die ademhalingsfrequentie ferm de lucht in gaan, want de mensen gaan naar adem snakken bij de optredens van de aangekondigde topartiesten.”
