Mu.ZEE Oostende
- Romestraat 11, 8400 Oostende, Belgium
Mu.ZEE combines art and coast and is therefore an original location for:
- exclusive nocturnes surrounded by works of art
- study days
- photo shoots
Mu.ZEE , in the art city of Ostend, is housed in an iconic former department store by architect Gaston Eysselinck. It is the only museum that focuses on modern and contemporary art in Belgium from 1880 to the present. In addition to showing the collection, which counts 8,000 works, we organize temporary exhibitions that highlight artists who played an important role in Belgian art history.
The upcoming exhibitions for an unforgettable nocturne are:
- Anna Boch (1848-1936), An impressionistic journey from 1-07-2023 to 5-11-2023
Mu.ZEE pays homage to this underexposed figure in Belgian art history on the occasion of her 175th birthday with rarely exhibited works from private collections and exceptional loans from renowned institutions , such as the Musée d'Orsay.
- Rose, Rose, Rose à mes yeux! James Ensor and still life in Belgium from 16-12-2023 to 14-04-2024
