Slachthuis is the music factory of Haarlem. It's a place for all musicians to work, whether you're professional or just starting out. We have various sizes of rehearsal and teaching rooms, but also two sound studios, a lathe cut for cutting small runs of vinyl, a screen printing facility for printing merchandise, an old-fashioned button machine and, last but not least, a stage. Every day musicians work with us, lessons and courses are given, workshops are held and performances take place at the weekend. Slachthuis works intensively with the Hart education center, Patronaat and various other pop-related organizations in the area. We offer space for young makers and organizers to present themselves on stage. In addition, we work with national artists to offer a diverse and inspiring program that will encourage visitors to make music themselves. In this way, Slachthuis is building a national network that musicians can benefit from, so that their careers can flourish optimally. The function of the pop center is fulfilled with the following components:

Education and orientation - Lessons for individual students and bands in the Popschool van Hart.

Facilitate and stimulate - Practice rooms for the pop scene. This offers acts the opportunity to rehearse and produce all week.

Music recording - Musicians and producers can use isolated work spaces at Slachthuis and there is a professional sound studio for recording.

Presentation - The Slachthuis Café has a stage where both novice and seasoned bands perform.

Slachthuis is dé muziekfabriek van Haarlem. Het is een plek voor alle muzikanten om te werken, of je nou professioneel bent of beginnend. We hebben diverse formaten repetitie- en lesruimtes, maar ook twee geluidsstudio’s, een lathe cut voor het snijden van kleine oplages vinyl, een zeefdruk voor het drukken van merchandise, een ouderwetse buttonmachine en, last but not least, een podium. Daarnaast werken we samen met nationale artiesten om een divers en inspirerend programma aan te bieden dat bezoekers zal stimuleren zelf muziek te maken. Zo bouwt Slachthuis een nationaal netwerk op, waar muzikanten op mee kunnen liften, om zo hun carrière optimaal te kunnen laten floreren. Met de volgende onderdelen wordt invulling gegeven aan de functie van het popcentrum:

Educatie en oriëntatie - Lessen aan individuele leerlingen en aan bandjes in de Popschool van Hart.

Faciliteren en stimuleren - Oefenruimtes voor de popscene. Dit biedt acts de mogelijkheid om de hele week te repeteren en produceren.

Muziekopname - Muzikanten en producers kunnen bij Slachthuis terecht in geïsoleerde werkruimtes en er is een professionele geluidsstudio voor opnames.

Presentatie - In het Slachthuis Café is een podium waar zowel beginnende als doorgewinterde bands optredens verzorgen.

Ontmoeting - Het Popcentrum is opgezet om de ontmoeting tussen muzikanten, docenten en publiek te bevorderen.

Daarnaast is Slachthuis ook te huur voor - Worstelshows, vergaderingen, trouwfeesten, uitvaarten, personeelsfeesten, verjaardagen, workshops, award shows, conferenties, Lgbtqia+ bijeenkomsten, EP releases, videoclip opnames, buurtfeesten, surpriseparty’s, writers camps, saaie borrels, educatieve uitjes, etc.**
