In the middle of the forest, on the edge of National Park 'De Sallandse Heuvelrug' you will find restaurant, hotel and grand café De Swarte Ruijter. The thatched villa was built in the 1930s as a tea house on one of the most beautiful spots of the Holterberg. The history of the building is combined with a forest and wildlife atmosphere and modern design. The atmosphere can best be described as 'simple chic'. Harmony, simplicity and respect for nature are central.
In the restaurant, chef Erik de Mönnink cooks with pure, regional products and herbs from our own herb garden. The menu changes regularly and offers dishes that are appropriate to the season.
De Swarte Ruijter is also the perfect place for your private dinner, party or meeting. And the ten hotel rooms in thatched cottages are equipped with all the comfort you could wish for as a guest.
