Flemish Minister for the Environment Zuhal Demir has issued an environmental permit to Corda Campus for the construction of a hypermodern, digital event hall. With an area of approximately 10,000 m², Corda Arena will be the largest digitalized event location in Belgium.

By compartmentalizing, the location will also be able to host smaller events. They also look forward to European championships in niche sports such as e-sports and the like. The location will not become a competitor of Trixxo Arena or Sportpaleis, but will focus more on events where the digitally immersive aspect prevails with, for example, avatars or holograms.

Door compartimentering zal de locatie bovendien ook kleinere events kunnen hosten. Ook lonken ze er bijvoorbeeld naar Europese kampioenschappen in nichesporten zoals e-sports en dies meer. De locatie zal geen concurrent worden van Trixxo Arena of Sportpaleis, maar meer inzetten op events waar het digitaal immersieve aspect primeert met bijvoorbeeld avatars of hologrammen.
