Drone Crashes at Event

A camera drone crashed into the stands during a public event. The crash once again raises questions about the safety of drones at well-attended events.

The drone crashed into the stands during The Great Bull Run (USA). Four people suffered minor injuries. The television station WTVR-TV reports that the drone was used to capture video of the event, although the drone was not operated by WTVR-TV personnel, nor were the images used by the station.

In a video on the television station’s website it shows how the drone hovered above the stands. The drone is about 1.2 meters in diameter. Suddenly something went wrong and the drone crashed into the crowd.

Although there are seldom accidents involving drones, regulations regarding the use of drones is still unclear.
