The revenue of the British event industry is estimated at no less than 58.8 billion euro (£ 42,3 billion). Especially the increase in business attendees at congresses, but also music festivals and the Rugby World Cup boost the figures.
Michael Hirst, chairman of the Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP), announced the estimation. 'He added that the industry grew from £39.1 to £42.3 billion. A growth of 8,2% compared to last year.
Hirst further emphasized the advantages of the strong growth of the event industry to British society: employment, foreign investments, trade development, knowledge trade, ... but also recreative and social opportunities.
