Believe it or not, insufficient lighting or the temperature of light can affect people’s mood and productivity. Whether natural or artificial, the lighting will affect a person’s emotional, mental, and biological states.

Other researchers, on the other hand, revealed that “people who had windows in their office exercised more, got more sleep (on average, 46 minutes more a night!), and had a greater sense of overall wellbeing than those whose offices had no windows.” Most significantly, lighting is known to impact the circadian rhythms, contributing to people’s alertness.
Although most of these studies were meant to determine the ways in which lighting affects the knowledge workers, we can easily extend the findings to our attendees. Since most parts of events are held in an enclosed space, it would be careless to ignore the impact the venue lighting has on our guests.
